8-23,24 Oslo,Norway
After Stockholm, took the fast X2000 Signature Plus line to Oslo.  Oslo is probably a great city but I was a bit spoiled after Stockholm.
Woah, this is hairy.  Not only do you have to ski down this thing straight for 100 meters, you then jump off and since this is 2000 ft up, it feels like you are jumping over Oslo.  Oh yeah, then you are supposed to land.
Norwegians are big skiers and they have a nice ski museum 2000 ft above the town under the olympic ski jump.  I think my dad has the same outfit and skiis
Here's the dinner shot for Babs, meatballs, split-pea something and boiled potatoes.
After the ski jump, Helmenkollen, you can ride the tram two more stops until you get to the top of the hill.  Then if you don't get lost like I did, you can wander 5 minutes through the shrub to the Frognerseteren Restaurant.  I had to ask some mountain bikers for directions, good think the Norwegians speak more languages than I do.
The next day I was cruising through town and stumbled across this Munch at the local museum.  Looks familiar huh.
Can't beat the view though.  That's Oslo below me and it's pretty much the view that the jumpers had. Scary. If you notice, the houses have plants and grass growing on the roof.  I think it's for insulation.
Don't ask me how but this raft almost made it from South America to Tahiti.
Another famous artist was Vigland. He cut this deal with the city.  For free room and board he would create a park full of sculptures. He ended with hundreds all told.
