What a relief to get to Copenhagen, I really liked this city, water, bikes, clean, spoke english. I thought this was my new favorite till I got to Stockholm, more on that later. |

Richard here led us through the town on my first few hours in the town. He's from Jersey but came here 15 years ago, found his wife in a week and never left. He also helps Rick Steves right his great Scandinavia book. Every gringo tourist here has it. |
|
Probably the most famous author in Copenhagen is Hans Christian Anderson. Before he wrote the Little Mermaid and the Ugly Duckling he tried plays, novels, acting, the circus but then hit upon his adult fairy tails. |

The guy with the hat was my canal boat driver and I swear he was drunk. He couldn't really walk straight or sit up but at least the boat got where it needed to go. The stockexchange and government buildings built in Dutch style are to the right. |

Isn't this a great city? Hans lived in the red house on the right. |

Tourists make my day. This is me taking a picture of a bunch of folks taking a picture of a bronze statue of the little mermaid. I mean this place isn't that central but every tour bus and boat stop here. One German lady was yelling at this Chinese dude because he got in her shot, good stuff. |

I think I'd rather be in this boat. Just think, The Perfect Storm territory is a little north of us. This boat probably wouldn't have saved George or the other fisherman. |

Now this is the boat I would want. In the back there was a Mercedes on the deck and the next day I saw about 7 uniformed teens soaping the outside. BTW, you'll need to ask the King for a ride. |
