Biking From Bruges to Holland |
|
|
|
Ok, here's a secret...Everyone bikes in Belgium and Holland. The land is flat, they have great bike paths and cars are a pain. I mean everyone rides a bike, young, old, people in shorts, people dressed for a night out. The coolest thing I saw was this father giving his kid a ride. The cool thing was that the kid was still in his wheel chair and the father had this rig that essentially put the wheelchair, and the kid in this huge basket at the front of the bike. I wish I was fast enough to take a picture. It was very cool |

Here's a Belgian Peloton, trust me, there is no one in the group that's less than 60 years old. They were doing the same route I was but for some reason, they kept getting ahead of me. I couldn't figure it out. But I was determined....... |

And there is no way that I was going to let them get ahead of me!!!! (I swear I didn't put anything in their spokes) |

This is what I say when I play that stupid game...Actually Damme is about 5kms from Bruges and about 7kms from the Holland Border |

Did I make it to Holland? I walked around the town, and I still wasn't sure until I saw the dirty video shops. Some country's reputation precedes them. |

Here's why I couldn't tell that I was in a foreign country. I mean that's the border, that's it, nothing else. It made me want to smuggle something across. By the way, my bike path on the right, and ones like it are all over the place. |

I got a little lost on the way back but was lucky enough to stumble across this working windmill, cool. |

Came out of my hotel on the way to the train station, turned the corner and had to get a shot. This is the belfry and ever 15 minutes they play very hip toons on the bells. |
